  • Our residency program offers 9 categorical spots per application cycle. After matching, you will complete all four years of residency at our institution.

  • We utilize the ERAS application system for each match year. All international medical graduates (IMGs) must have a valid ECFMG certificate prior to applying. Our interview cycle typically starts in the fall and proceeds until the end of January.

  • As a level 1 trauma center in the largest medical district in North America, we take care of some of the most life-threatening traumas in the Chicagoland area. We are proud to take care of the most diverse population of patients, most of which are classified as ASA-III. All in all, your training at County will be second to none.

Application Information

Please provide the following for your application:

  1. Photo

  2. Personal statement

  3. MSPE letter

  4. Medical school transcript with USMLE/COMLEX scores

  5. Letters of Recommendation (3 or more)

  6. ECFMG certification

Interview Information

  • Interviews will be emailed and scheduling information will follow

  • Prior to your interview day, make sure to join us for a social gathering with current residents to ask all of your important questions prior to your interview

  • The interview itself will consist of an overview session with the program director, 3-4 solo interviews with various attendings, and time at the end for follow up questions

  • We undergo a selection process using the NRMP (National Resident Matching Program); Match Day will follow in March!
